RECOMMENDED:  We recommend that you add the 2 burlap sand bags and put pine shavings in them.  This acts as an absorbent material for moisture and also as insulation.

Recommended:  Use a 7/8″ rim below the Quilt board and above your inner cover to put fondant, pollen patties, sugar cakes etc.

Queen excluders prevent the queen from entering and producing brood in honey supers. The spaces are large enough for worker bees to move through but small enough that the queen is unable to fit through. The paste Fondabee made from microcrystalline sugar which is very digestible by the bee, so as to allow the bee to take without the need to melt first. The Fondabee paste contains very little water and always remains soft. A high quality product from Belgium.

What is A Package of Bees:

• it  is approx. 10,000 – 15,000 bees in a screened box

The bees should be installed as soon as possible.  They should not be left in the transport box.
These bees should be installed into your hive box that should include at least one frame of drawn comb plus food.  (more info in the description)

When placed directly on the bottom board, a screen will be needed to keep the bees from sticking to the adhesive.

When used in conjunction with a screened bottom board, the replacement sticky board can be used alone.

The bottom board of a beehive is the base of the hive, and serves as a platform for which the other components of the hive rest on. … This base also serves as a closer to the bottom of the hive to protect the honey bees, and the contents inside the hive from larger predators like mice, racoons, etc.

We recommend using a Sticky Board with a Special Screen/mat to test for mites.

Formic Acid Pads  $.11 ea

Formic Acid Pads are used for the treatment of varroa mites. Simply soak the pads in formic acids and apply the pads to your hives.

These high-quality brass eyelets are used to reinforce frames so that the frame wire will not cut into the wood. Wire and eyelets are used when installing natural wax foundation into frames. They help strengthen and stabilize the fragile wax foundation to prevent it from sagging in the frame or breaking during extraction.

The Wire Embedder.

This is a great tool for embedding wire into foundation. It is specifically designed for beekeepers who assembled their own beeswax foundation. It works well when you heat the spur to melt the wire into the wax.

This metal  entrance reducer fits over the entrance of a hive to prevent mice from entering while still allowing bees full access. It is ideal for winterizing hives as it provides maximum protection against robbery.

It slides in and out so that one side has ventilation holes only and the other is a reducer/mouse guard.

Really handy and solves the problem of wooden reducers that are the wrong size.

The bee brush is an important tool for every beekeeper. It is used to gently move bees when needed. This tool is ideal during honey harvest when bees need to be removed from frames before extraction. Queen excluders prevent the queen from producing brood in honey supers. This queen excluder is made from high quality plastic. It work efficiently and provides great value for its price.

The plastic queen excluder is placed above the brood chamber to keep the queen down.  As a result, the upper frames will be filled with honey and no brood.  The plastic ones can be thrown in the freezer, wax easily snaps off.
